Indoor fun at Kampeerdorp de Zandstuve

There is plenty to do at Kampeerdorp de Zandstuve, even on a rainy day. Take a dip in the subtropical indoor pool, climb and play in Cobus Speelkasteel or spend some time in the Chilz Playroom. There is also a dedicated Dreumes Speelplein for the youngest children. During the season, the Stuufteam organises different activities every day. You can find the current programme in the Stuufapp.

Monkey Town Hardenberg

At Monkey Town Hardenberg, children can climb, slide, jump and play. There is a separate play area for younger children. You can also play glow-in-the-dark mini golf here. A great option for a few active hours indoors.

De Koppel in Hardenberg

At nature activity centre De Koppel, everything revolves around nature, water and sustainability. Children can explore, do simple experiments and learn more about nature in the Vechtdal. A nice change if you are looking for something different from climbing and playing.

Bios Hardenberg

A rainy afternoon is a great excuse for a trip to the cinema. Bios Hardenberg regularly shows children’s and family films. Check the programme in advance to see which films are playing and which age groups they are suitable for.

Plopsa Indoor Coevorden

For a bigger day out, head to Plopsa Indoor Coevorden. Most of the park is indoors and you’ll find a range of attractions, play areas and shows. Coevorden is just across the provincial border in Drenthe and is easy to reach from Hardenberg.

WILDLANDS Adventure Zoo Emmen

WILDLANDS is also a good option when the weather is changeable. Large parts of the park are covered, including the tropical Rimbula jungle. This means you can combine seeing animals, exploring and playing without being completely dependent on the weather.

Bonus tip: Tierpark Nordhorn

Just across the German border you’ll find Tierpark Nordhorn. Alongside the animals, there are playgrounds and an indoor play area. As a large part of the zoo is outdoors, this is best suited to days with a few showers rather than continuous rain.

Plenty to do when the weather is bad

A rainy holiday day certainly doesn’t have to be boring. At Kampeerdorp de Zandstuve itself and in the area around Hardenberg, there are plenty of fun activities for children. And if the sun suddenly comes out? You can simply head back outside.
